The tallest building in Brisbane in 1826 was the Commandant's quarters on William Street, remaining so until the Windmill was built on Wickham Street. Things rapidly changed in the 1970s until now when many new buildings are reaching the maximum allowable limit due to the flight path regulations. Savills Brisbane sold the 501 Adelaide Street site (to Harry Triguboff at Meriton who built Soleil) and 300 George Street to a Tiawanese billionaire John Lin at Shayher where the soon-to-be tallest building in Brisbane is currently under construction.
